About Us

Dave Anselmo is a producer who works worldwide to produce films for the Hallmark Channel and Sony, just to name a few. David grew up in Sudbury and was a Laurentian University film graduate. He wanted to remain in Sudbury, doing what he loved, but at the time there was no market. He left to travel the world, spent seven years in South Korea, and met people within the industry, created contacts, and established a reputation as a producer.

He returned to Sudbury and began renting the Barrydowne Arena which was empty and unused and a big expense to the City of Sudbury. This became a studio, and the beginning of a film industry in Sudbury.

He overcame the stigma of Ontario and more specifically Sudbury not having a media market or film industry, and is now creating a fast growing market. He has legitimized Sudbury as a location for filming. David was the first to invest in the film industry in Northern Ontario and since there were few people with experience in the area, decided to cooperate with industrial partners from other places and look for resources to support his dream of being a pioneer in the northern Ontario film industry.

David has fulfilled his own passion in his film career, established a new industry in Northern Ontario, created opportunities for local people who want to pursue a career in the film industry, and facilitate local economic development by bringing more film producers to work in Sudbury.
